Angelo J. Mattalino, M.D. is the founder and Medical Director of Phoenix Regenerative Medicine and Mattalino Orthopaedics Sports Surgical Specialists in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a renowned orthopedic surgeon balancing his commitment to his private practice, his association with professional sports organizations and the application of the latest medical and surgical techniques available throughout the healthcare industry.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston Dr. Mattalino completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Tulane Medical School.
Dr. Mattalino completed two fellowships with leaders in the Sports Medicine Field. The first being the Sports Medicine Knee and Arthroscopic Surgery fellowship in 1987 with Dr. J.R. Steadman of Vail, CO followed by a Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery and Shoulder fellowship with Dr. James R. Andrews of the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. With the experience gained through these fellowships and years of clinic practice, Dr. Mattalino has become an expert in the evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal problems.
Over the years, Dr. Mattalino has diversely impacted the healthcare community in Arizona and nationally as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the American Sports Medicine Institute Fellowship Society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Mattalino is the epitome of Orthopaedic Surgery and Regenerative Medicine care of patients.
Today, Dr. Mattalino has taken his 30 years of clinical and surgical experience and incorporated it with the current innovations of healthcare. With this innovative approach, he founded Phoenix Regenerative Medicine which focuses on regenerative methods in Orthopaedics.
